Operational Strengths
The owner (a highly educated, African-American War Veteran) built the company on his understanding of what the African-American population wants in product designs and pricing. The Company also offers high quality products for the general market. It is the African-American market segment that has been greatly responsible for the rapid growth of the company, taking it in 4 years from $0 to the better part of $20MM. In the ethnic marketplace alone there appears to be a realistic potential of well over $100 million based on the fact that the current revenues are being produced from only three or four states. The company maintains attractive showroom space, exhibiting examples of custom designed products. It is the Company’s ability to forecast and pre-order product that moves through the product cycle effectively. Maintaining and controlling their own distribution centers and transportation saves shipping costs while insuring quality handling and delivery of the product. The Company advertises in the major periodicals of their industry. The Company is a member of local Mortuary Associations, and advertises in periodic publications offered. Regional and national trade shows are also attended.
